Testing
laboratory

Pioma-Odlewnia has one of the most modern and the best equipped industrial laboratories in the country conducting research work and testing materials used in the production processes as well as offering services for the casting plant and outside customers. The laboratory is certificated in accordance with Quality Management System PN-EN ISO/IEC 17025: 2005.
 
The research program of the laboratory embraces the following:

• chemical analysis

range: steels and cast steels, low-alloyed and highly alloyed, grey cast irons, alloyed and spheroid cast irons

equipment: the emission meter of quantum ARL-3460, carbon and sulphur analyzer LECO CS – 125, oxygen and nitrogen analyzer LECO TC 500

• resistance tests

range: static test of bumping to determine R02, Re, Rm, A5, Z, E;Charpy impact strength test of temperature starting from - 75°C,Brinell, Vickers, Rockwell hardness test, static test of bending
equipment: impact hammer RKP 450, universal testing machine ZWICK

• metallographic tests

range: macro and microscopy metallography
equipment: metallographic microscope NEOPHOT 32R with
the magnifying power of 10 - 2000x, metallographic microscope EPITYP 2 with the magnifying power of 10 – 2000x, program for picture analysis – LUCIA

• non destructive tests

range: magnetic inspection, ultrasonic inspection, penetrators,X-ray tests
equipment: slotted-lever flow detector AC230, flow detector USM25DAC, MR68, MR70
